Serge Gainsbourg

Serge Gainsbourg - Confidentiel - If one is going to roll in the hay with ennui, Serge Gainsbourg is your man. I happen to think "Bonnie and Clyde" to be one of the perfect songs in the universe, evidenced by this blip post

In rereading, my praise is a little melodramatic. Ennui summons hyperbole to its side to attain balance, I suppose.

But until listening to this minor jazzbo excursion of his, I've never made it all the way through a Gainsbourg album. This album is Marc Ribot meets the Chet Baker Sings records on a disheveled 4-star hotel bed in an undisclosed European port city, waiting on room service.
