100 words about scissors

"Scissors are one of the many products that have gotten better in my lifetime" Nicholson Baker, A Box of Matches.
The sleek ergonomic office scissors Miss Bobbye casually ordered for me while I was admiring hers are light years more the Scissors than the orange-handled scissors I would beg my mother to let me use; they were her good sewing scissors. My family has a cruel running joke about scissors from my sister at that repeating stage, repeating to everyone at the table that she had some scissors. To this day someone always brings up the scissors. Like some paper caught between the blades, they won’t let go, and like the dullest pair, it still manages to cut a little.
