Chicken Picatta, Zeeland Street Market






Yum. I almost never get the special at Zeeland's in deference to the sure-thing pot roast or brisket plates, but this was worth the venture. Juicy and rich yet somehow light chicken in gravy over angel hair pasta, perfectly crisp steamed sqash, mustard greens unadorned as the higher powers ordain and cornbread. When I watch the cooking shows like I do and see the chefs pureeing vegetables so that they become mortar for their architectural pilonhs of meat, I think it a monumental waste of a good vegetable.
